Let's talk about me, let's talk about us. Let's talk about the let's talk about wealth. Let's talk about green. Let's talk being broke living in poverty. Let's talk about black. Let's talk about white. Let's talk about how we still fight for rights. Let's talk about sex games and drugs. And let's talk about God. Let's talk about love. Let's discuss our felons. Hey, y'all, welcome to blessed to be S. I'm your cousin and Christ won trial event. And this is bougie Bible studies. If you are new here, I'd like to welcome you to the number one Bible study class that you will ever come across. And if you are not new here, you already know how we get down over here as we dive into the Bible, and read a chapter a week and get the inside story of what took place in ancient times. And that is still relatively important and vital for our lives. Today, the Bible is preached all over the world in different languages and different books. But for me, it is very important to dive into the Bible where I understand it and get that deliverance and that message from the Holy Spirit of God to talk and speak to me. And I asked that the Holy Spirit also speaks to you individually as you listen to the story or read the story with me. If you are not new here, you can check out any episode before this and get an understanding of how these Bible study classes take place. As I just solidly dive into the Bible and read the story and let God use me for who I am to give an insight of my understanding of the chapter that we read, as well as I break it down for understanding for myself. Now, the things that I say on this podcast are not what God tells me to tell you because He speaks to me solely and I just ask that you open up your heart and let the Holy Spirit and God use you to speak to you solely as well. So don't ever misconstrue and think that God has given me a message for you. If anything, what comes from the Bible is directed for all of us, and how we interpret it is strictly from the Lord to us. So it is very important for you to get a relationship with God so that you can hear what he is talking to you about not just what he is saying to me, you already go ahead and grab your Bibles. This week we will be in a second Samuel chapter 12. Last week, we were in Second Samuel chapter 11. And we heard the story of David and Bathsheba and David should have never done that where he had Uriah killed and slept with his wife, Bathsheba, and all of this good stuff that took place. If you want to hear that story, go ahead and check it out. You can click the link below this and you can simply hear any story before this. But this week we are in Second Samuel chapter 12. And our title for today is Nathan rebukes the king, which he rebukes King David. And just following up from chapter 11, which is good I like when stories go ahead and continue through. Because if you know you've been rocking with us, you know we've been going in and out of the Bible so that we can kind of get an understanding of how the Bible storytelling goes, if that makes sense. So what I have is my Bible basically have me jump to different chapters. And what I like about that is that it just gives me a good understanding of Christianity, it gives me a good understanding on the life of Jesus, it gave me a great understanding of the life of Paul and you know, as we are diving into the Old Testament, and it's given me an understanding of what took place back then. And that Old Testament where God was talking to the people at that time. And so it is very important for us to really dissect the Bible on our own and not really go off of what preachers are people are saying in their terms on on what they hear from God because not everybody message is for you should I say but I do not want to take up too much of your time. Go ahead and grab your Bible. You can simply listen along it is your prerogative, it is your business. However you want to choose to listen to this podcast or go along with us. You can be related to me to Christ and go ahead and dive in by grabbing your Bible and you know, letting letting letting God use you. If you are ready, I am too and let's go second Samuel chapter 11. Nathan rebukes David. The Lord sent Nathan to David and when he came to him, he said there were two men and a certain town, one rich any other poor. The rich man had a very large number of sheep and cattle but the poor man had nothing except one little ewe lamb he had bought, he raised it and I grew up with him and his children is shared his food, drank from his cup and even slept on his arm. It was like a daughter to him. Now, a traveler came to the rich man, but the rich man refrain from taking one of his own sheep or cattle to prepare a meal for the traveler who had come to him. Instead, he took the ewe lamb that belongs to the poor man and prepared it for the one who had come to him. David burned with anger against the man and said to Nathan, as surely as the Lord lives, the man who did this must die, he must pay for that Lamb four times over because he did such a thing and had no pity. Then Nathan said to David, you are that man, this is what the Lord the God of Israel says, I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul, I gave your Masters House to you and your masters, wives into your arms, I gave you all Israel and Judah. And if all this had been too little, I would have given you even more. Why did you despise the word of the Lord by doing what is evil in his eyes, you struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sward and took his wife to be your own, you killed him with the sword of the almond knights Now, therefore, the sward would never depart from your house because you despise me and took the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your own. This is what the Lord says, out of your own household, I am going to bring calamity on you before your very eyes. I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you. And he will sleep with your wives in broad daylight. You did it in secret, but I would do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel. Then David said to Nathan, I have sinned against the Lord. Nathan replied, The Lord has taken away your sin, you are not going to die. But because by doing this, you have shown utter contempt for the Lord the son born to you will die. After Nathan had gone home. The Lord struck the child that you Riis wife had born to David, and he became ill David pleaded with God for the child. He fasted and spent the night lion and a sack clock on the ground. The elders of his house hosted beside him to get him up from the ground, but he refused and he would not eat any food with them. When the seventh day the child died. David's attendants were afraid to tell him that the child was dead for they thought, while the child was still living. He wouldn't listen to us when we spoke to him. How can we now tell him the child is dead? He may do something desperate, David noticed that his attendants were whispering among themselves and he realized the child was dead. Is a child dead? He asked. Yes, they replied, He is dead. Then David got up from the ground after he had washed, put on lotions and changed his clothes. He went into the house of the Lord in worship. And then he went to his own house, and at his request, they served him food, and he ate, but his attendants had asked him, Why are you acting this way? While the child was alive, you fasted and wept, but now that the child is dead, you get up and eat, he answered, while the child was still alive. I fasted and wept. I thought, who knows the Lord may be gracious to me and let the child live. The now that the child is dead, why should I go on fasting? Can I bring him back again, I will go to him but he will not returned to me. Then David comforted his wife, Bathsheba, and he went to her and made love to her she gave birth to a son and they named him Solomon. The Lord loved him. And because the Lord loved him, he sent word through Nathan the prophet to name him Jedediah. Meanwhile, Joab fought against robber of the Ammonites and captured the royal citadel. Joab then sent messengers to David saying, I have fought against Robert and taken its water supply now muster the rest of the troops and besieged the city and capture it. Otherwise, I will take the city and it will be named after me. So David mustered the entire army and went to Raba and intact and captured it. David took the crown from their kings head, and it was placed on his own head. It weighed a talent of gold, and it was set with precious stone. David took a great quantity of plunder from the city and brought out the people who were there co signing them to labor with Saul's and with IronPigs and Axess. He made them work at brickmaking. David did this to all the Ammonite towns, and then his entire army returned to Jerusalem. And that is the end of our chapter. You guys. Okay, let's break it down. Let's break it down. At the end of chapter 11. God was not very happy with what David did because David use his power for the wrong thing, basically. So in chapter 12 Nathan came to rebuke David, like what you did was absolutely wrong. And let me tell you, the Lord is not happy with you. So the Lord sent Nathan a David. And when he came to him, he ended up telling David about a story. He was like, Look, there's two men. One man, he got a lot of sheep, a lot of cattle, a lot of everything. And there's a poor man who has nothing but except he has one lamb, he loves his lamb eat with him. He lets his lamb drink with him. He basically treats this one lamb as if his own child, a stranger comes to the to the man and the rich man ends up not giving his lamb or any of all of his things that he have to prepare a meal for the traveler. He ends up taking the poor man's lamb and kills it and ends up serving it to the traveler. Now when Devi hear this story, he gets really super angry. He's like, Oh, hell no have no that man should pay for that Lamb like He must die he needs to pay for that Lamb times for because what he did was out of pity Nathan is like, well, you are the rich man. You are that man. You basically took you Ryan's wife when God had gave you plenty wives, he gave you your Masters House he gave you plenty of wives to have but instead you took your servants servants wife, and you know what you did was basically wrong. You had no pity. So now David, realize like, Oh my god. Basically, Nathan said today that you are that man. This is what the Lord the God of Israel says, I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul, I gave you your Masters House in your masters wives into your arms. I gave you all of Israel and Judah. And if all this had been too little, I would have even giving you more. Why did you despise the word of the Lord by doing what is evil in his eyes, you know, you struck down you riot a hits a tie with the sward and took his wife to be your own you killed him with the sward of the Ammonites. Now, the sward will never depart from your house because you despise the Lord and took the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your own. This is basically what the Lord is saying, because he told Nathan to tell David but the fact that the Lord trusted Nathan with this information, and David knew that Nathan was a prophet. So what made this information more relevant to what took place at this time, Nathan is basically still telling David like, you know, this is what the Lord says, out of your own household, I'm going to bring calamity on you before your very eyes, I will take your wives I will give them to one who is close to you. And he will sleep with your wives in broad daylight. You did it in secret, I will do this in broad daylight before all Israel like then one thing about I noticed about the Lord and His Bible is he don't play. He'll play no games. That's what they say fear the Lord because you know when he brings wrath on you, it is no joke and in it and it has a way of gracefully breaking what should have not been done like you get a clearer understanding how God operates like to win with the Lord, you need to really be one with the Lord. And it's very complicated if you don't build this relationship, this is a building relationship thing until the day he calls you home because he has to order your steps. So you can't just be healed one day and not ask for healing a next day or like you have to constantly be building building building and so what I noticed about the Lord is that when he bring wrath him playing Okay, he bought he bought he bought to take his own son he liked look since you did what you did. Obviously there's consequences and karma behind that the Lord just works in mysterious ways. And he see for it however he sees best fit or how she ever sees this this however you want to identify the creator of the universe. Davis says hey, Nathan, I oh my god, like I have sinned against the Lord. like cheese. What did I do basically? And then they the reply, like Yeah, the Lord has taken away your sin. So you're not going to die because you know the Lord forgive you for your sins for sure. But because by doing this, you have shown utter contempt for the Lord, the son born to you shall die. So you and Bathsheba already got down and got pregnant. That was Uriah his wife, the son that was to be born to Bathsheba obviously but belong to David basically. So after Nathan had gone home, the Lord struck the child that Uriah wife had born to David and he became very sick if he became ill he became sick. So David prayed. He pleaded, he begged God don't take his son away. Please don't do this. You know, like, I've sinned. You I've wronged you. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, basically. And God, it's like it already happened. I already felt what I was going to do. You already did what you did. It is what it is. I forgive you. But the consequences is this. The son showed i David was begging he spent nights laying on the floor and a cloth sack like a pallet. He made his pallet on the floor, make it make sense to us. He made a pallet on the floor, he slept he fast, he didn't eat, he prayed. He begged and he cried, you know, basically servants, his people, everybody stood by his side, he would not eat any food, he would not get up, no, nothing. He stayed there. And he did this for days. Now on the seventh day, the son actually passed away, they was afraid to tell David that the son passed away. So David realizes that, you know, they're chatting and he's like, Well, you know, did my child die, they were scared to tell them because they thought that he would act out of desperation, they thought he would do something crazy. But our real reality, David was very humble. At that point, he realized what he's done, he knew that he cannot change God's mind. You know, as much as he wanted to, he couldn't even go to his son to make him better. There was nothing that they could have did at this time, that could have stopped this action of the Lord, because of what David does. And it speaks a lot to me. It says a lot to me. When I look at karma in life, I look at you know, the consequences of people, the fruit that we bear, you know how our lives end up our turn up, or whatever. It's like, God definitely forgives us for our sins. But if we look at our lives, and we see something falling apart, or we see something happening that has consequences to what we have done, when we went against the Lord, our sinned against the Lord, it really says a lot to me. And it makes me understand and realize how he uses our stories to tell another story. So here he is using David's story to tell me that when God gives you everything, and if you feel like he ain't giving you enough, simply, all you have to do is go to him and ask for more. He is a giving God I gave you your Masters House I gave you all the wives I had, this would have been too little for you, I would have even given you more, but you despise me, you went in contempt, you use your power to do something very wicked, which you should have never done. I've done this, I can see how this story unfold. I can see that, you know, I have tried to use sometimes maybe my looks beauty, my ways. My conversation I've tried to what God has given me has was not enough. I couldn't ask for more. But instead, I go around him and try to finesse the situation which I shouldn't do that. And I can see how some consequences has took place in my life where things have unfolded in a way that I didn't see coming. But I know that the Lord was like, you know, karma, karma karma has to hit. So he's on the seventh day the child died. And they were all afraid to tell him David noticed that his attendants were whispering among themselves, and he realized the child was dead. So he asked them, you know, is a child dead? And they replied to him, like, Yes, he is dead. So at that point, David thing gets up, he showers he lotions, his body, he puts on clean clothes, he shaves you do everything that he needs to be he went into the house of the Lord, and He worshiped so before he ate and did anything so the child died. Then David got up from the ground. After he had washed put lotion on changed his clothes. He went into the house of the Lord and worship that says a lot. It's like what your son just passed away? And shouldn't you still be laying on the floor fast and crying? It's like, but at that point, he's like, what is done already done. I must get up and worship God. I must get up and repent, I must get up and move forward. Because I've sinned in the Lord's eyes. And I've done this the Lord has taken away my sin. He's already forgiving for my sins. My son, what is there for me to do more? Will I stop worshiping the Lord? Because my consequences that took place know where the Lord stop given to me because of my consequences that took place. No, actually, life continues to move forward. David got up he washed himself. He put on lotion he put on clothes and he went to worship the Lord in the house. He worship this speaks to me because in times when I don't get my way Er, I feel like some things have fallen apart, I get discouraged to worship the Lord. But the Lord is telling me to worship Him in all areas, every time and every place of my life. When something goes wrong, I shall worship him. When something goes right, I should worship him. When I'm standing in a hallway, waiting for the next door to open, I should worship him. When I'm on my knees not knowing what to do, and I can't move, I should worship him at all times of my life, I should get up and worship Him at whatever place when David was on a sack of the floor fasting, he was worshipping him, when he got up to clean himself to go into the Lord's house, he worshipped Him. So it really says a lot to me that you know, no matter what, I shall worship the Lord, the Lord is my Savior. He's the Creator of all things. So I should worship the Lord. And that's just what he said to me. Now, I don't know what the Lord telling you and show business, you can go ahead and listen to the Lord, how you choose to I am not telling you what the Lord is telling you. I'm telling you what the Lord is telling me, I shall worship the Lord at all times of my life, just like David David made a mistake. consequences happen. Karma took place, he got up and he still worship the Lord. I respect that I respect a lot. And again, that's just me. That's my business. So he went into the house of the Lord and worship. Then he went to his own house, and I his requests, they served him food, and he ate, not at their request, it was at his request, he was ready to eat. His attendance was like, Yo, he's trippin. Because Why are you acting this way? When your son was sick, and Ill you laid on the floor, you fast you did not eat, you did not want to speak to us on the thing. But now that your son is dead, you get up and eat. And he like, while the child was still alive. I fasted and wept. I thought, who knows? The Lord may be gracious to me, and let the child live. But now that he is dead, why should I go on a fast thing? Can I bring him back to life? No, I will go to him in his grave, but he will not come to me. I will go to him while he's still alive. But he was still sick, he could not there was nothing that we could do. So then David comforted his wife, Bathsheba, because they both knew what was going down. And then he went, and he made love to her. But the thing is, he didn't die from what took place. God didn't allow the child to live a long and prosperous life. And that's because that baby was made through sin. It was made through an awful sin that shouldn't ever took place. In the eyes of the Lord. The Lord has every right to do what he wants for his children. The Lord didn't allow the child to live a prosperous life. And some may argue and disagree that the Lord should have let that child lives because the child was innocent. But if you realize how the child was made, you realize the life the child would have had, that's not a way of the Lord, that was not a right way. So it even brings knowledge to me why not everybody can make it in life, why every child does not had the opportunity to grow a prosperous life or to live, you know, in a fully grown awareness life. God does what he wants with his children. And he knows the reason behind what he allows to happen in our lifetime. I can't speak on people situation and say, You should trust God in areas that you don't I speak on it for me and say that I would trust God in areas that I'm not familiar with. Just like I trust God in areas that I am familiar with, because God created all things, including me, and anything that will come from me. And that's how it's so important to put God first and then let the things come after. And I still battle with this. I'm just like everybody else. I am not a perfect human, I would never be a perfect human, but in God's eyes on perfect to use according to His plan, and what he wants me to do in this life. So I look to him to realize certain things that took place in the Bible that still take place today in the eyes of us. I see how God operates. He is not one to play with. You either get with God or you get with the world and God has a set up where he takes you on a narrow path and only you on that narrow path will be operated by God to let him use you the moment you try to go off the path or go into a different direction with the case you're no longer allowing God to use you things can happen. You're unprotected. You're not guided your footsteps hurting are ordered your ways of seeing life and seeing the past will become darkened. You don't get to see clearly because God is the light. And he's the way and he's the truth. I like to think of this story. As God forgave David. He allowed him to bear another child with Bathsheba, especially what was his wife, but the consequences that took before this was able to happen, God they'll allow grace and mercy one David and David still worship God after what took place. I can only imagine back in that time how vital this story was. And this is just a story being told to us so I'm just deciphering the story. I really don't know for say everything that took place but I can just only imagine how an humbling experience it became for David to see all this David coffered, his wife Bathsheba. He went to her he may loved her and she she gave birth to a son and they named him Solomon. The Lord loved him. And because the Lord loved him, he said work through Nathan the prophet to name him Jetta diet. Meanwhile, Joy fought against Rabab, the Ammonites and Kapha at the Royal citadel. Joab does send message to David saying, I have fought against Rabat and I take it as water supply. Now you better muster up your team and let's stop the rest of the troops and come over here in the safest city and capture it. Otherwise, I will take the city and it will be named after me Joanne David like oh, no, no, no. So he mustered up his troops. And he came over to Rabat and he attacked and captured it. He then took the crown from the king's head, and he placed it on his head. And it was real beautiful. It was a nice crowd with big diamonds in it, and all that good stuff. And David was able to capture take over the Ammonites or whatever, David took a great quantity of plunder from the city. And he brought out the people who were there consigning them to labor with saws and with iron pigs and axes. So he basically made them work. And he made them work at brickmaking. And then David did this to all the Ammonite town, then him and his entire army return back to Jerusalem. And that was the end of our chapters. He got up from his depression after everything that took place. But wow, oh my God, what an amazing, amazing story. Somebody in our days today basically could have destroyed the evidence with an abortion. Basically what David did with Bathsheba and Uriah simply easily made a mistake he could have that she would go get abortion that would have been in our days, and a year I would have never found out the son would have never been born, the child would have never died. So David has his own cover up plan instead. And because he had his own cover a plan things took a left turn, it didn't go as planned. What ensues is a classic case of one crime leading to another right and so in the end, David breaks the sixth, seventh, ninth and 10th commandment for his loyalty which Uriah is murdered, and many other Israelites fall with him jacked up right, the story of David's infidelity might have ended there and probably would have except for one, pretend in his centers at the close of the chapter of 11. The Lord let it be known that what David did is pleased him the next chapter follow what the Lord did with David of his displacement. I'm so happy that we got a chance to go into chapter 12 Because it gave us the ideas of how those so in this dramatic scene, David greatness shows itself he could have Nathan killed or he could laugh and toss the profit out of the palace. But David knows Nathan speaks for God and what may be the greatest moment of his life. He admits that he have sinned against the Lord. And in his immediate confession, Davis shows what makes him a man after God's own heart is because he knew and he took accountability of what he had did by displeasing the Lord and hey, you have sinned against him to appreciate David's confession, we only need to think of the response of recent leaders, our people in today's time, that's how you're going to appreciate what David did confessing after Nathan spoke to him. And yes, he could have had Nathan killed and he could have kicked Nathan out, but he knew that Nathan was a prophet. Although forgiveness comes in an instant, the consequence of David's actions flagged to the kingdom for generations. And that's because God said the sward will never leave your household. It's like once you go against God, God has every right to do whatever he wants with you, period. But we do know and kings David's household, it was calamity. It was a mess. It wasn't the best It was crazy. The question is how do you instinctively react when someone confronts you over your wrong door? Do you blow up do you get off Raizy do you go into defense? Or do you admit, like David did and say, you know, I've sinned against the Lord, I shouldn't have done that. I know before, when I've got confronted, I never was a big fan of constructive criticism. I never, I never really was until I realized what it could do to potentially help me grow. I didn't like when I was told that I was doing something wrong, saying something wrong or acting out in another way, because I didn't really care about anybody else's opinion on my life, it did not matter. But what I started to care about was how God see me and how I will react towards God and what I would do and his eye. And that became a walking in relationship with God and what that meant to me. In reality, prior before my walk with Christ, I would not accept no one telling me that I did something wrong, or that I was moving wrong or acting wrong, like I will literally dismissed them on my life, like get on my life, you can't tell me what to do now that I started to walk with Christ. If I'm told me doing something can get a reaction from me, I tried to pray first, even if it's praying to my mind, I tried to allow God to speak to me. So I could use the right words, I tried to take on constructive criticism in a way that God sees me. And so if something is brought to me brought to my attention, then I take it to God, and then I let God dissect it. And then I let him insert me the things that I should have and should not have. I think what people today are nowadays, they're looking for people to operate their lives, instead of allowing God to operate our lives. And I say this to say that we're all looking for someone to relate to, to feel like, oh, I need to be like this person, or I need to act like this person, I need to talk like this person, or I need to think like this person. But in all reality, all we all need to do is get into our Bibles and let God use us individually. And that way, you know, if somebody is telling you something wrong, or telling you something, right, you immediately could take that to God and let God move that in your life. I think a lot of people get so caught up and trying to play God and be God, that we forget that we actually have a creator that we all can go to individually, and how I go to God may not be the same way how you go to God, but it doesn't make it wrong, and it doesn't make it right, and how I react to certain things should be how I will react to what God tells me. I tried to take all of my wrongdoings or even if I'm getting told that I'm doing something wrong, I just try to take that to God. That's my reaction. Instinctively, I try not to get so defensive, because I don't know the other person's motive. Like I don't know, where did that information come from fully, or whatever. So I like try to go and pray about it, then I can react to it. Now, I haven't always been this way. I had a quick fast reaction to certain things. Again, I used to put up a big defense or I will simply just remove myself from a person's life, our situation or anything like that, if I was being told something and I think that's called constructive criticism, nobody really could take our handle constructive criticism, everybody operates different, but for me is taking what I know what I don't know to God, taken my wants and my needs to God, taking my joy and my fear to God taken my life, my plans, my goals to God, and then allow him to operate and what are my steps accordingly, acts for certain things at certain times. And I pray for certain people while I'm praying for myself, not such just that is just honoring God for just who he is, you know, what he's done, how he is, how he acts and how He disciplines how he breaks me down gracefully, how he shows me how imperfect I am, but perfect enough to be used having that relationship with God and it just all falls to just having a relationship with God. And that's what the story reminds me. But yes, guys, this story relates to all of us. It's important for us to have that relationship with God so that when we go through our life stories that God can work through us and we can hear from God, even if he sends somebody like Nathan, you know, you're wrong, you know, you're wrong, you can take accountability and things like that. So I really appreciate this story opened up for me where I can see how I've done some things wrong. And you know how God has given me grace in certain areas just like David he gave David and Bathsheba grace and allowed them to make love and bear another Nether child which was there. It didn't come from a scheme or scam and that child was born was named Solomon. I don't know the stories of Solomon yet, but I'm very excited to go into the stories when I do get there. And yes, you guys that has been our chapter and episode for today. What a great, great message. Go ahead and send this message to somebody you feel may benefit from it.
